Social worker Bruceann Deshazor-King, was already on cloud nine after she was awarded Social Worker of the Year for Region 8 by the National Association of Social Workers, Indiana Chapter during March 2 ceremony, according to this article in the Evansville Courier & Press.
However she was still caught off guard the following Monday when her school, Cedar Hall Community School, held a surprise assembly in her honor. The school had even made DeShazor-King a party hat adorned with one of her favorite treats — powdered donuts.

DeShazor-King, MSW, has been a social worker for 25 years, including 14 at Cedar Hall Community School.
“I love working with people in general, but the amount of love that I get from the kids here, and to give back, is just amazing,” King said. “And the staff I work with, I could not ask for a better group of individuals.”
