Cheers to WYNC Radio in New York City for their story on the Brooklyn Family Defense Project, a team of social workers and lawyers who help parents accused of neglect and abuse regain custody of their children.

Many news articles focus on the role of social workers in removing children from homes. This one highlights the often unnoticed role of social workers in reuniting families and strengthening them.

  1. I work in a family reunification program in Pennsylvania, I was happy to see this article. There IS so much focus on social workers removing children, no one hears about the ones helping to reunite them!
