Cheers to the Fenceviewer in Bar Harbor, ME for running this story that mentions an anonymous person who donated $12,000 to help pay the annual salary of school social worker Edith Dubois.
The person did so “because they are so interested in seeing this position continue,” Mount Desert Island Regional School System Superintendent Rob Liebow said.
In all the school system got $43,950 in private donations and federal money to pay Dubois’ annual salary, which is $50,621 counting benefits. Due to the donations the school will only have to pay $7,000 this year to keep Dubois.
Oh, and before we forget to mention, Dubois is a member of the National Association of Social Workers!
