Blood Marrow Donation Changed Man’s Life
Cheers to NBC 10 in Rhode Island for this article and video clip about social worker Todd Ellison.
Ellison had leukemia 14 years ago but a blood marrow donation from Mark Patter saved his life. Ellison then devoted his life to helping others with cancer, becoming an oncology social worker and hospice social worker.
On Sunday he met Patter in person for the first time on the pitcher’s mound at a Pawtucket Red Sox game.
“How do you thank someone for saving your life?” Ellison said.
