Performing Arts Program Inspires Youth

Cheers to the New Britain Herald in Connecticut for their article on social worker Dayna Snell and her performing arts program.

Snell said the Personal Enrichment Program, which is celebrating its 20th year, uses the theater arts to help children develop self-esteem and positive life values. The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain is honoring Snell with a Celebrate! Plainville Award.

“Her work reminds us that if we take the time with our youth we can make a positive difference in their lives and that is what Dayna achieves every day,” Celebrate! Plainville chairperson Linda Ferguson said.

  1. Naturally, it takes a talented and “out of the box” thinking SW to combine the attraction and fun of the performing arts with positive self esteem and value building skills. Major kudos and big congrats to Dayna for not only convincing the administration to allow her to create this enriching program, but also for proving to everyone that there are amazingly creative ways to reach kids and to make a monumental difference in their lives.

Very proud of another SW who demonstrates our value and skills,
