Jeers to the National File for this article about a Contra Costa County Child Protective Services worker who was misidentified as a social worker.

Acacia Chidi allegedly threatened a mother when the parent questioned why she used several aliases. The mother, Andrea Packwood, is president of California Family Advocacy. Packwood learned Chidi has a history of arrests.

However, Chidi is not an educated and licensed social worker. According to state records, Chidi is a licensed marriage and family therapist as well as an associate professional clinical counselor.

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) has contacted the publication, asking them to correct the article.

NASW is serious about protecting the social work title. If you think a person in a news article has been misidentified as a social worker please email media@socialworkers.org.

  1. Thank god this was caught. That lady was all over a closed file and created emotional damage to me and my daughter and family.
