“If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle” Runner-Up at Film Fest
The Romanian film “Eu Cand Vreau Sa Fluier, Fluier” (“If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle”) recently came in second place at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival.
The film features Ada Condeescu as “Ana,” a social worker in training who is kidnapped by inmate “Silviu” at a juvenile prison. Silviu (George Pistereanu) is angry his mother has returned from Italy and wants to take his younger brother back with her.
The film is getting notice because it highlights the plight of poor Romanian youth who are growing up alone without parents who take jobs abroad. The film also has a realistic, gritty feel because director Florin Serban used youth from a real detention center as actors.

I definitely want to watch this when it comes to the states. Any word on when it will be shown in the US?
