Young Social Worker Wants to Revive Detroit
Cheers to NPR for this article and radio segment on National Association of Social Workers member Charlie Cavell, a young man who is trying to restore economically depressed Detroit.
Cavell, a student at Wayne State University, joined the board of a local charter school. “I want to be a part of the change that I want to see,” he said.
Cavell also has a nonprofit called the Pay It Forward Initiative, which helps provide jobs for inner city kids. Although he is just 20 years old we think he is a great social worker in the making!
