Cheers to Yahoo! for a recent article that advises college students to pursue a social work rather than psychology degree.

That is because it is easier to get an entry level job in the social science field with a social work bachelor’s degree, the article said. Most psychology jobs require a master’s degree.

Social work graduates also have more career options because social workers work in a variety of fields, including schools, healthcare systems, in private practice, or even in the criminal justice system, said Tracy Whitaker, DSW, director of the National Association of Social Workers’ Center for Workforce Studies.
