Utah Considering More Foster Care Cuts
Jeers to the Utah state legislature for considering additional budget cuts to the Utah Division of Child and Family Services out-of-home care program.
That program pays for home care for children who must be removed from abusive homes. The state already slashed $5 million from the current program budget and is considering another five to 10 percent cut, according to this editorial in the Salt Lake City Tribune.
“Such severe cuts would cripple the state’s ability to properly care for the children who need help most,” the editorial said.
