A 2007 study from the University of Georgia School of Social Work revealed social workers were at higher risk for post traumatic stress disorder due to the often stressful cases they handle, the news report said.

Fox 14 TV acknowledged the difficult issues facing social workers, especially those in child welfare. However report also said the profession can be very fulfilling, especially for social workers who have learned to handle the tight-rope walking aspects of their jobs.
