National Association of Social Workers member Deborah Barrett’s short plays have won critical acclaim in the past two years.
Now her first feature-length play “Oh Baby” is coming to the stage at the Free Association Theatre Ensemble (FATE) in Cary, NC, according to this article in the Chapel Hill News. “Oh Baby” features eight interlocking vignettes that deal with childbirth and fertility .
Barrett, who is a clinical assistant professor at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Social Work, can’t believe her writings will come to life on stage. “I can’t tell you how exciting this is for me,” she said. “This is my baby.”
Q: Do you know other social workers who are actors or playwrights?
