Social Worker Tip Helps Authorities Find Missing Woman
A tip from a social worker helped authorities find Danielle Marie Vara, 26, a woman with brain injuries who lived with her parents, according to this article in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Vara suffered severe brain injuries in a car accident years ago and is considered a vulnerable adult. She rarely ventured far from home because of short term memory loss.
After a missing persons report was put out in the news on March 2 a social worker recognized Vara and alerted police to where she could be found.
Police went to the location, found Vara, and returned her to her parents. The social worker was not identified.
Cheers to the Star Tribune for reminding readers that social workers often look out for society’s most vulnerable people.
