One-Stop Shop in Bronx Helps Struggling Families
Cheers to the New York Daily News for thisĀ article on the Center for Urban Community Services, which opened a “one-stop shop” where Bronx residents can go to seek public aid.
The reporter interviewed Biriam Ortiz, 28, a struggling single mother of three who works at night and goes to school by day. A social worker friend referred Ortiz to the center and she found she qualified for housing assistance, a child care subsidy, food stamps and other aid.
Just another story that proves social workers are committed to helping people!
