Cheers to the Maryland Gazette  for a touching article on NASW member Lynn Hardesty MSW, who was honored for her dedication to young cancer patients at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Hardesty was one of two nominees recognized at a 2009 Festival of Heroes benefit event. That event raised $250,000 to help expand cancer programs at the hospital.

“I’ve often felt you see the best of people around here. And it’s not only from the kids, it’s from everybody,” Hardesty said.
