MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Mentions NASW in Segment on Uganda Anti-Gay Law

Maddow, who is openly gay, did a segment on proposed Ugandan legislation that would imprison people who are gay and even execute those who are gay and HIV positive.

Maddow said American conservatives are in Uganda promoting the theory gays can be cured, fueling supportĀ  for the bill. Maddow said several major organizations, including NASW, the American Psychological Association, the American Psychiatric Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics, have long debunked the ex-gay movement.

Maddow’s segment is still online. To watch it click here. NASW is mentioned around minute 3:25.

  1. I’d send out a cheer for Rachel Maddow whether she mentions NASW or not. I find her to be highly knowledgeable, intelligent, manages to ferret out the most relevant issues, is appropriately confrontive when seeking an honest reply from a guest and she mixes in a sufficient amount of humor for a successful recipe. Yes, I am a Rachel Maddow fan. :o)
