Minnesota Cuts Funding for Anti-Gang Program
Jeers to Minnesota for cutting funding for Neighborhood House, an organization that runs a much-praised program that reduces gang violence in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
According to this article in on MinnPost.com, Neighborhood House requested $175,000 but got less than half of that amount.
The agency laid off a part-time social worker and told a licensed clinical social worker who worked with the group they don’t have the money to pay him for providing counseling.
“I’m less worried about my funding than theirs,” therapist Resmaa Menakem, MSW, LCSW, said.
