Military Children Need Our Support

Cheers to the Huffington Post for this column on military children by Ron Avi Astor, professor of social work at the University of Southern California.

Astor, who is project leader of Building Capacity in Military Connected Schools, said children of military families are under enormous stress. Many change schools frequently, have difficulty keeping up academically, and have to cope when parents are deployed overseas.

Astor talked about efforts to support military families, including President Obama’s Strengthening or Military Families directive. To read the complete column click here.
