Learning to Forgive

Cheers to Wrangler News in Arizona for this article about an employee program run by National Association of Social Workers member Lynda Dallyn, MSW, LCSW.

Dallyn offers counseling sessions for employees at Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers and workers at Catholic Healthcare West Urgent Care to help them learn forgiveness. She started the program after she noticed past hurts and disappointments sometimes left people bitter and angry.

How can employees help others heal if they are hurting inside, she asked? So far more than 100 workers have taken the voluntary, free program since it started in 2009.

“I got to thinking that if we can make happy employees, they can really provide better care to patients, and then they will be happy patients,” Dallyn said.
