Article Outlines the Difficult Task of Guiding Cancer Patients
Cheers to the online version of the Tampa Tribune for this article on social worker Irma Bernales.
Bernales, MSW, offers patient care and hospice services to cancer patients through the Moffitt Cancer Center. An earlier, life-threatening illness gave Bernales a new perspective on patient care she now incorporates into her often stressful job.
“I wish I had a magic wand to eliminate cancer,” Bernales said. “But as difficult and traumatic as it is for a patient, I’ve seen how struggle allows for personal, transformational growth.”
