A New Life for Louie
Cheers to the Seattle Times and Walla Walla Union-Bulletin in Washington state for this article about social worker Teresa Pavish-Paradiso, LCSW, and her adopted dog Louie.
Louie, who is a Hungarian Vizsla hunting dog, had been abused for four years by his orginial owners. Louie was undernourished, severely beaten, and fearful of humans. Pavish-Paradiso, who helps veterans overcome post traumatic stress disorder, said she used some of the same techniques used with humans to rehabilitate Louie.
“He didn’t let the pain of what happened stop him from having a life,” she said. “He’s made such a difference in my life. I respect him for giving us humans a second chance.”
