Social Workers Push for Same Sex Marriage in Maryland
A Jan. 31 Maryland Senate hearing on legislation to grant marital rights to same-sex couples was so full there was an overflow room with television screens, according to this article in the Washington Blade.
In all, 75 people testified in support or opposition to the legislation.
Some of those testifying in favor of the bill, which has the support of Gov. Martin O’Malley (D), was National Association of Social Workers Maryland Chapter Executive Director Daphne McClellan and social workers and radio show hosts Bob and Lori Hollander.
