Social worker Tahmena Bokhari Wins New Crown

Social worker Tahmena Bokhari, who won Mrs. World Pakistan 2010, has scored another victory.

Bokhari was crowned Mrs. United Nations 2010, according to this article on Oye! Times. This is the first time a Pakistani has won an international pageant.

The pageant was held Nov. 8-14 in Jamaica. “This is a victory for all Pakistanis everywhere,” Bokhari said.

Bokhari is an advocate for women’s rights in Pakistan and around the world and ending violence against women.

She earned a master’s degree in social work from the  University of  Toronto and is a social worker, professor, government consultant, public speaker and writer.

  1. This is amazing. Thank you for profiling her here. I do think it is a great accomplishment to be the first Pakistani woman to ever win an international title. And you know, she did it all purely for political reasons, meaning to make a bold political statement to the world on what Pakistan is and should be all about. We are so very proud of her and her boldness.

  3. very nice. yes, i think there are different categories like miss, ms, mrs, 50+, and mr.
    so all women can apply and even men can apply.
