Sen. Judy Eason McIntyre

Oklahoma senator and social worker Judy Eason McIntyre said she does not mind being branded a “liberal” in a conservative state where Republicans hold majorities in the House and Senate by large margins.

“I’m proud of it. My Republican friends tell me that’s one of the things they like about me…because I have not ever run away from being a liberal,”  McIntyre said in this interview with Tulsa World.

McIntyre earned a bachelor’s and master of science degree in social work from the University of Oklahoma. She retired from the Department of Human Services Child Welfare Division after working there for 31 years.
