National Association of Social Workers Executive Director Betsy Clark recently wrote a letter-to-the-editor about a Newsweek article on First Lady Michelle Obama’s campaign to fight childhood obesity.

NASW supports Michelle Obama’s and Congressional efforts to end childhood obesity, which has contributed to alarming levels of “adult diseases” such as Type II diabetes, sleep apnea and high cholesterol in children.
