This Is the Best Age to Get Married (According to Relationship Experts)
Brides.com
From a neurological standpoint, Kelsey Torgerson, a licensed clinical social worker, says that waiting until your brain has fully developed (at age 25) is important. “I believe it’s best to wait until this marker,” she says. “It’s also important to experience stressors with your partner that you overcome, so if you have a high school sweetheart, you should see how you two handle college, long distance, studying abroad, or getting two jobs. You want to know that you have the conflict-management strategies in place for a healthy, successful marriage down the road.”

It’s Possible to Have a Postpartum Syndrome That Isn’t Postpartum Depression
Glamour
It’s something that’s known as postpartum stress syndrome. It’s a term that Karen Kleiman, L.C.S.W., director of the Postpartum Stress Center and author of The Art of Holding in Therapy: An Essential Intervention for Postpartum Depression and Anxiety, coined to describe women who fall somewhere between suffering from the “baby blues” and an actual diagnosis of postpartum depression or postpartum anxiety, a condition that can cause women to feel constantly anxious to the point where it interferes with their lives. Women who suffer from postpartum stress syndrome have huge feelings of self-doubt mixed with an intense desire to be a perfect mom, Kleiman explains—and they can feel seriously stressed out as a result.

Education Dive
The city of Philadelphia plans to spend $1.2 million to hire full-time social workers for 22 Philadelphia schools as part of a pilot program this fall, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer — though the plan still has to be approved by the School Reform Commission, which oversees the district. While the city hopes to receive some Medicaid funding to reimburse costs, officials say they will implement the plan regardless. Shortly after he took office in 2016, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney began meeting with principals about their concerns, and the 22 schools were chosen based on students’ needs.

Seante’ Hunt stood in front of 16 trainees in a county health department conference room Monday morning and held up a plastic syringe filled with a clear, unassuming liquid. That watery substance is Naloxone, the miracle drug that, as she explained to a group of teachers, social workers and others, allows “for life to begin again” in a person on the edge of death from an opioid overdose. Hunt is the opioid misuse prevention coordinator and overdose response program coordinator in Howard County, a position becoming increasingly vital as the county continues an unrelenting battle against opioid abuse.
