National Association of Social Workers member and Democrat Jo Ellen Bowman is challenging incumbent GOP Pennsylvania State Rep. Jeff Pyle, according to this article in the Leader Times.

Bowman, MSW, who is executive director of a county domestic and sexual assault program and shelter, said a state budget stalemate prompted her to run.

“I’m frustrated with the lack of cooperation, the lack of responsibility, that our government is providing to the people,” she said. “I’ve been thinking about wanting to make a bigger difference.”

Pyle said he is up for the challenge. “I commend her for stepping into the ring,” he said
