In Memory: Irene Schneiderman
Social worker Irene Schneiderman, 92, played a key role in alcohol treatment programs in the Washington, D.C. area, according to this obituary in the Washington Post.
Schneiderman died on April 23 from complications from a stroke.
Schneiderman, MSW, directed the alcoholism treatment center for a program at General Research Corp. in McLean and was an assistant professor in the department of social welfare and rehabilitation at the old Federal City College. During the late 1970s and 1980s she was also a communications consultant for alcohol treatment and training programs in the region.
