Finding A Warm Home for a Premature Infant

Thanks to The News Tribune in Tacoma, Wash. for the article “Community reaches out to Basin City preemie.”

The story mentioned how National Association of Social Workers member Tiffany Thorson connected a young couple with a premature infant with resources to help them fix windows and their home heating system. The article is just another example of the many services social workers provide clients.

“Our job as social workers is to take care of the nonmedical stuff,” Thorson said. “We can’t discharge a baby to a house that is as cold inside as it is outside.”
