Cross-dressing Social Worker is Top Tupperware Seller
Social worker Robert Suchan puts on makeup, a wig and a dress to become Tupperware saleswoman “Aunt Barbara,” according to this ABC article.
The schtick has worked wondrously — Suchan was the top Tupperware seller in North America last year, moving $250,000 worth of products. Business has been so good Suchan, 43, quit his social worker job to sell Tupperware full time.
“The phone rings every day,” said Suchan, who stands at six feet five inches in heels and bouffant wig. “The emails don’t stop.”

This is what happens when social workers burn out from lack of pay and high stress. And to think that Robert “moved up” by leaving social work to sell Tupperware! That does not speak well of our profession at all! Unless we work to improve our wages and working conditions, we’ll be seeing more people like Robert in one form or another.
Bravo to Robert Suchan for reviving an old standard. Tupperware is a great product but, let’s be honest, the parties were never that entertaining. By creating a character with humor and charm, Robert has earned himself a place in the Tupperware record books. Milton Berle, Tony Curtis, Tom Hanks and other great actors who have put on dresses to entertain would probably shake his hand and say “Congratulations on your success”.
