Article: NASW Member Tapped to Head N.J. Children, Families Department
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie nominated National Association of Social Workers member Allison Blake to run the New Jersey Department of Children and Families, according to this NJ.com article.
Blake, DSW, MSW, is currently director of the Institute for Families at the Rutgers School of Social Work.
“Through Blake’s efforts, New Jersey’s child-welfare system now emphasizes social work training and ensuring social workers are in supervisory positions,” said Walter Kalman, executive director of the National Association of Social Workers-New Jersey.
The New Jersey state Senate Judiciary Committee and full Senate must approve Blake’s nomation.
