TV to Watch: Stand Up to Cancer
ABC, HBO, NBC, CBS and other television networks are teaming up tonight to air “Stand Up to Cancer” to raise funds for collaborative cancer research.
The non-commercial special will air tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern (7 p.m. Central) and feature a slew of celebrities and musical performers, including Neil Diamond and Stevie Wonder. George Clooney, Anne Heche, Will Smith, Denzel Washington and other actors are expected to man the volunteer phone banks.
The event raised more than $100 million in 2008 when it first aired in 2008, according to the Washington Post.
