March Madness Basketball Could Fuel Gambling Addiction
The rush to bet on NCAA college basketball championship games could cause gambling addicts to backslide, National Association of Social Workers member Matthew Jost, MSW, said in this article on Buffalo’s WBEN AM news radio Website.
March Madness is one of the biggest events of the year for gamblers, said Jost, who specializes in gambling addictions. And the fact there are so many games to bet on makes the event especially attractive to gambling addicts, some of whom end up losing thousands of dollars.
“The brackets give people all sorts of opportunities to gamble,” he said.
