Before  you open your wallet and give or loan money to a grown child, consider your own finances and don’t over extend yourself, National Association of Social Workers member Susan Guerriero said in this mlive.com article.

You should also assess whether you are enabling the child, making them less likely to be responsible and live on their own, Guerriero said.

“I see a lot of adult children who would prefer to live with mom and dad because it is difficult to live independently,” she said.
