Social Workers are against building more Massachusetts casinos
The National Association of Social Workers Massachusetts is one of several groups protesting the expansion of casinos in the state, according to this article on MassLive.com.
“In the long term, the bill will only create more economic turbulence, more problems for families, and more new addiction than our state can afford,” Massachusetts chapter spokeswoman Alison Digman said at a protest outside the statehouse.
The Massachusetts House of Representatives today (September 14, 2011) is set to consider a bill to allow three new casinos in three regions in the state.
