Social Worker Daughter of Newscaster Tom Brokaw Writes Self-Help Book

National Association of Social Workers member Sarah Brokaw, MSW, is the daughter of newscaster Tom Brokaw but was happy to live for some time in Japan where nobody noticed her famous name.

Brokaw, who is now a therapist in Beverly Hills, said in in a USA Today article that she didn’t want to go to her 20th high school reunion because she wasn’t married and didn’t have children. “And then I realized I was being the biggest hypocrite,” said Brokaw, who coaches women on living better lives.

So she decided to practice what she preached and is now author of Fortytude: Making the Next Decades the Best Years of Your Life Through the 40s, 50s, and Beyond.”
