Two alumni at the University of California at Santa Cruz have created a scholarship in honor of Gabe Zimmerman, the National Association of Social Workers member slain in Arizona, according to this article in the Washington Post. 

Zimmerman did community outreach for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ), who is still recovering from her injuries. The scholarship would go to a student who share Zimmerman’s passion for public service. It will be administered through the college’s Division of Social Sciences.
