In Memory: Jan Chapin

National Association of Social Workers member Jan Chapin, 65, died at her home from metastatic melanoma, according to this Baltimore SunĀ obituary. Chapin had been a 20-year breast cancer survivor.

Chapin earned a master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work and Community Planning.

During her profession she worked at the Baltimore City Department of Parks and Recreation, Baltimore City public schools, Sinai Hospital Home Care Hospice, the Independent Dialysis Foundation and DaVita Inc., the dialysis division of DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc.

Chapin was also an avid music and Baltimore Ravens football fan and had season tickets for 17 years. She also held season tickets at theĀ  Baltimore Symphony Orchestra for 40 years.

Chapin is survived by her husband of 37 years, David Chapin, daughter Sara and son Daniel.
