Due to Congressional inaction subsidized student loan rates will double to 6.8 percent.

WKRG.com news in Mobile, Ala., gave students the microphone and let them vent about how the increase will make it harder and longer to pay for college.

One was Jonathan Davis, who is majoring in social work and pre-law at the University of South Alabama.

“I probably owe $30,000 right now,” he said. “Yeah, it’s tough.”

Q: Are you affected by the student loan rate increase?
