Social Workers of the Future May Specialize in Web 2.0

There may be a demand by 2030 for social workers who help people who are “traumatized” or “marginalized” by social networking Web sites such as Facebook and MySpace, according to this article in the United Kingdom’s Guardian newspaper.

  1. The Social “Networking” Worker (page 40) is not too far fetched considering the amount of people whose interaction with the virtual world is increasing as their connections to the physical world decline.
