Obama asking Social Workers to Help Defend Affordable Care Act

President Obama’s Affordable Care Act (ACA) is already helping more Americans get access to healthcare.

This includes young adults who can get coverage on their parent’s healthcare plans and seniors who qualify for more affordable prescriptions, according to this Associated Press article.

However, the two-year old law is under threat. This month the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments over whether parts of the law are unconstitutional. A ruling is expected in June.

The Obama Administration has launched a campaign to advertise the benefits of the ACA (to learn more read this Philly.com article).

The administration is also asking social workers for help. Could you give us stories of how this law has benefited a client? Please email gwright@naswdc.org. You do not have to provide the client’s name.
