The Greater Rochester Collaborative Master of Social Work program, an effort between SUNY Brockport and Nazareth College, Rochester, will provide a continued pathway for those pursuing a behavioral health career or a pathway for people interested in switching to that career. This is the first time it will be offered at an extension site.

That’s one reason a weekend grief camp for youth called Camp Triumph was formed seven years ago by Gretchen Kirvida, a clinical social worker and bereavement counselor with Fairview Lakes HomeCaring & Hospice. The free annual event, which has attracted about 25 kids per session, is held at the 117-acre Camp Ojiketa in Chisago City and staffed by some 20 volunteers each year. This year’s camp will be held June and 2.
