Nevada has severe social worker shortage
The Great Recession has driven up the demand for social workers in Nevada but the state has a severe shortage, according to this article on the Website of News 4 television in Reno.
Nevada has fewer than 90 social workers per 100,000 people, well below the national average of 200, according to National Association of Social Workers Nevada Chapter president Mark Nichols.

Will a high demand for social workers and a low supply drive up wages according to the laws of economics? I certainly hope so. While we need more social workers in Nevada, we certainly need them to get paid fair wages too.
