Kansas social worker who stalked client put on probation, loses license

Rachelle Santiago, the military social worker charged with harassing a client, will serve three years probation and must surrender her social work license, according to this article on WIBW in Kansas.

Santiago, MSW, also agreed not to reapply to practice in Kansas or any other state.

Santiago was a contract employee at the Irwin Community Hospital at Fort Riley Army Base. She admitted to making sexual advances toward a soldier she was counseling for post traumatic stress disorder and marital issues. She also sent him inappropriate text messages, including threatening him and his family if he would not see her.

Santiago was barred from the base but sped through the entrance last January, leading police officers on a high speed chase that at sometimes exceeded 100 miles per hour. She also pleaded guilty to fleeing from a police officer.

Santiago initially claimed steroids she took for a bronchial and breathing disorder caused her to have a psychotic break.
