In Memoriam: Alex Velto

Alex Velto was executive director of the Northern New York Community Foundation. He began his career as an advocate for the poor in inner city Chicago and received a master’s degree in social work from the Jane Addams Graduate School of Social Work in 1968.
According to his obituary in Newzjunky.com, Velto helped develop hundreds of millions of dollars of senior housing in northern New York.
Velto, 68, who lived in Watertown, died from cancer on Dec. 17.

From observance of Mr. Velto’s work, as seen in attached articles, I commend his work and my sympathy goes out to his family, friends, and everyone he touched.
