Dying Veteran Marries Sweetheart of 28 Years

National Association of Social Workers member Rebecca Myers sent us this Fox News television news story about Joe Wilson, a Marine diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.

“Happy-go-lucky” Joe had dated Denise Frazier on and off for 28 years, had a daughter with her, but never married. But while doing end-of-life counseling with an unidentified social worker and Denise, he popped the question. The couple recently married at the Veterans Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Rebecca thought it was a “neat story” to share and sent it to SocialWorkersSpeak.org.
