Doing funerals the natural way
Wisconsin social worker Kevin Corrado, MSW, worked in hospitals for 30 years and often counseled patients who were facing death.
This article in the Wisconsin State Journal says after retiring Corrado has chosen a new career that deals with death.
He now helps clients arrange “green,” or environmentally sensitive funerals, for departed family members at the Natural Path Sanctuary in Verona.
Corrado helps clients select coffins made of grasses, raw pine and other materials that degrade in the soil without releasing chemicals or other contaminants.
“We don’t allow the body to be embalmed as chemicals from the embalming fluid can leach into the soil,” he said.
