NASW member Dr. Ron Avi Astor’s opinion piece on CNN.com on Nov. 2 is a must-read for social workers. Ron wrote about the alleged gang rape of a teenager in an alley near a school dance at Richmond High School in northern California. But instead of villainizing our youth Ron discussed ways to prevent such tragedies from recurring and how young people already have the knowledge to prevent such crimes. We must engage them!
