It never ceases to amaze SocialWorkersSpeak.org how varied the social work profession is and how social workers use an array of talent to help clients.

That is why we liked this article from The Desert Sun in Palm Springs, CA about medical social worker Mercy Perez and dietician Jessica Brantley. Both work for the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Desert Regional Medical Center. They offer free classes to help patients and their families make tasty yet healthy meals.

We guess they add a new meaning to the term “comfort food.”

  1. It’s good to see professionals from varied disciplines pull together to provide comprehensive care to patients. Professional services go beyond Charting/Documentation, etc.

Also, it is good to get positive feedback and to share varied ideas with others on how to provide comprehensive care to patients.

  2. That’s what I hope to do — I am also a Registered Dietitian working on my Masters in Social Work! :)
